How Examination & Results Works
The Examination & Results module lets teachers schedule exams for any standard and division, define subjects with dates, times, and marks, and then enter student results. Grades and pass/fail status are calculated automatically based on the configured grade bands. Each result includes a Teacher Comment tab for faculty and parent feedback, and a PDF report card can be generated and printed with all entered data.

The Exam Menu lists all scheduled examinations with their name, standard, division, start date, and end date. Teachers can create new exams for any standard and division with a clear Draft → On Going → Closed status workflow.
The Exam Form captures:
- Name of the exam (e.g. Semester 1, Winter Examination – 2024)
- Standard,Division, and Academic Year
- Start Date, End Date, and overall Time From / Time To
- Subjects tab — each subject has a date, day, time from, time to, and marks
- Students tab — students of the selected standard auto-populate with roll numbers
Once all subjects and students are added, the teacher clicks Confirm to move the exam to On Going status.
Result — Mark Sheet Entry & Auto Grade Calculation
Results are created under the Result sub-menu within the Exam module. Each result is linked to a student and an exam. Once the exam is selected, all subjects from that exam automatically appear in the Mark Sheet.
For each subject, enter the marks scored. The system automatically calculates:
- Gradeper subject (A, B, C, D) based on configured grade bands
- Pass/Failtoggle per subject based on passing marks
- Total Marks Scored— sum of all subject marks
- Percentage %— auto-calculated from total marks
- Overall Grade— based on final percentage
Marks can only be entered when the student was present. If absent, marks default to zero automatically.
Teacher Comment & PDF Report Card
The Teachers Comment tab on the Result form allows the subject teacher, parent, and all subject teachers to add individual descriptions and remarks on the student's performance.
Fields available in the Teacher Comment tab:
- Faculty— the main faculty responsible for the result
- Parent— parent name linked to the student
- Individual subject teachers (Leo Teacher, English Teacher, Chinese Teacher, etc.)
- Description fieldsfor each — add remarks like "Excellent", "Needs Improvement"
Once complete, a PDF report card is generated that displays all the information entered during the result generation — mark sheet, grades, pass/fail status, teacher remarks, and parent comments — ready to print and distribute.

Parents tap on any exam from the dashboard to see the complete result for their child — showing student name, exam name, standard, division, academic year, and a full subject-wise breakdown with marks scored, grade, and pass/fail status.
